Making Learning Move

Every lesson should have a rhythm — a natural flow that carries children from curiosity to understanding. Lesson Flow helps teachers design learning that moves with the child’s energy and attention, rather than against it.

FOCUS — Whole-Body Ready

Wriggle out the squiggles, awaken thinking, and prepare the whole child — body, mind, and heart — to learn.
This short, energising start helps children settle, regulate, and get ready for what’s ahead.
⏰ Timing: 7–10 minutes
💡 Movement, rhythm, and readiness — a mindful beginning that sets the tone for success.

LEARN — Collaborate & Create

This is the heart of teaching and learning, where you become the guide on the side and the meddler in the middle.
Children explore ideas together, problem-solve in peer groups, and make meaning through discovery.
It’s also where small focus groups come alive — a chance to connect, differentiate, and deepen understanding through conversation and play.
⏰ Timing: 15–20 minutes
💬 Facilitate, question, guide — this is where learning grows through collaboration and curiosity.

OPEN — Question & Explore

Learners investigate, test, and connect concepts across subjects, bringing PRIME Maths and Story THREAD to life through projects, inquiry, and expressive learning.
⏰ Timing: 15–20 minutes — but this phase is flexible. Once a project or question has been “opened,” children can continue exploring at other times of the day — during free-choice play, transitions, or even at home.
🔍 Inquiry doesn’t end when the clock does — it opens pathways for continuous learning.

WRAP — Reboot, Recalibrate & Re-energise

The lesson closes with reflection and renewal.
Children pause, share “what stuck,” celebrate small wins, and prepare to move smoothly into the next part of their day — the next lesson, break, or beyond.
⏰ Timing: Quickfire 5 minutes — no more.
🌱 A brief but powerful close that brings closure, calm, and readiness for what’s next.
