Unpacking a Story THREASession 

In this 1-hour interactive session, teachers will:

  • How to use real-life, concrete and physical experiences from learners’ life worlds as the starting point for language and life skills learning.

  • How Story THREAD develops thinking skills such as sequencing, predicting, reasoning, and problem-solving through shared stories and discussion.

  • How social and emotional learning within Story THREAD supports concentration, active participation, and emotional readiness for learning.

  • How Story THREAD scaffolds positive behaviour, including listening, turn-taking, self-regulation, and respectful interaction.

  • Why Story THREAD is essential for deep, meaningful learning, not surface-level activities or add-ons.

  • How to apply Story THREAD across Languages, Life Skills, and Mathematics to support integrated teaching.

 Step by Step

  • Talk – Learners share ideas and stories to build oral language.

  • Hear & Hold – Learners listen, remember, and sequence information.

  • Relate – Learners connect learning to their life world and emotions.

  • Explore – Learners think, question, and investigate through play and discussion.

  • Action – Learners apply learning through practical, real-life tasks.

  • Design – Learners create and refine understanding through expressive work.
